At backwoodsbound.com/zsnake.html
It is one of 6 recipes. You could also Google Rattlesnake Recipes and get several pages.

Selma,

RE:I'm not transporting anything poisonous in a paper bag. Also, zoo won't take the snake. Not endangered, not used to being handled, health of snake unknown.

I don't know about the "not endangered" part. Any snake found slinking around my house is endangered.

BTW, a "Varmint Gun" is usually a rifle of relatively small bore, such as a .243. The 7.62mm SKS is a popular varmint rifle because of its low cost to own and to shoot.

We've always just fried rattlesnakes in bread batter.

They do taste like chicken if they've eaten enough of them!

Welcome to the pit Prof. Forbin
You will find the conversation very entertaining!

BTW - A friend of mine went through survival training in Texas many years ago and told me how he would catch snakes and eat them. Taste like chicken. I think I'll pass.

Or you can mask the taste with something else, like a nice Texas Rattlesnake Chili recipe.

hey Shap, don't ya mean Any snake found slinking around my house is in-dangered.

i really have no knowledge on guns what so ever. it's a subject i'll have to catch up on. probably not a bad idea for a single fem to have the know how.

<sigh> In-dangered isn't a real word. I hope you were making a funny, because if not I'm going to have to talk Ben o'Den into whacking you upside the vocabulary with a spell-checker.

Re the guns: things to remember. They shoot. Gun control - the art of accurately shooting your selected target.

Knowing how to shoot a gun might well be like knowing how to change a tire; you learn in case you ever need to know. Doesn't mean you plan to make a habit of it.

oh Selma, i must drive you absolutely crazy. yes it was a joke. in the real world my vocab and spelling are really not that bad. mom has taught me well and made sure i understood a few things.

i do wish there was a spell check available sometimes.

Yes. You and other things too. In fact, lots of things drive me crazy. Nice of you all, I'd hate to walk.

Fortunately, "Crazy" is home territory for me.
