As a semi-herbavore, I would like something with the head of a lettuce, an ear from a corn, an artichoke's heart, a horse's radish, and an egg from a plant.

An elephant has a seven or eight kilogram brain; that is some serious thinking. Actually, I feel trivial standing next to an elephant. I would be honored have one love me.

You told us nothing about the glass; the quality of the material, the size, type, style, weight. Is it transparent or translucent. These are all very crucial factors.

German - Jaeger Schnitzel
Polynesian - Marinated chicken in orange sauce


2.) A cat. I have several, but no house cats. They're portable, independent, low maintenance, and useful for pest control.

3.) the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Ethnic food? Sauerbraten- German, Sesame Beef- Chinese, White Bean Chili- American.

Pet? Well I own a cat, so that probably says something. But then there is the bird. And I like dogs too.

As for the glass question I have two answers:

1. If I am in the process of filling it up, then it is half full. If I am in the process of emptying it, then it is half empty.

2. My glass is half empty, by belly is half full. Barkeep! Another round please.

I've had jagermeister. Tastes like cough syrup, and is probably more effective.

Jager Schniztel, however, is a bit different:

Jager Schnitzel

Ingredients:
4 pieces Turkeybreast, Chickenbreast, Veal or Pork
flour or bread crumbs
1 egg
Vegetable oil to fry
salt, pepper to taste

For the Gravy
1 pkg. bacon, crumbled
1 large onion, chopped
1 Tbsp tomato paste
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
1/2 cup dry wine
1/2 cup water
Dash of thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp paprika
1 Tbsp parsley
2 Tbsp sour cream

Directions:
Remove the Jager schnitzel from the pan, and put them on the dishes.


Directions for the Gravy:
While the meat is browning, saute the bacon and onions until golden brown. Add the tomato paste and mushrooms, and saute over a low heat. Add the wine, water and seasonings; let simmer for about 5 minutes. Stir in the sour cream. Pour over schnitzel.

P.S.: I've never made it myself. There is a fine restaurant here in Cape Girardeau that serves a great schnitzel.

1. Ethnic food...its all ethnic food. Most prefer Italian, Japanese, and Cuban and Chinese and....

2. I may have read this wrong but I thought we could go beyond pet...by family relationship what do you mean. I don't think I'd like a Canada Goose for a pet for instance but I might enjoy being a wild one. (No silly goose jokes PLEASE!!)

If it's...
a. Cabernet Sauvignon then it's probably empty...refill, please.
b. Alka Seltzer then it's probably full...can't stomach the stuff.
c. anything else then it's probably a glass with liquid in it.

pets of the norm are birds, cats, dogs, fish, etc... but being able to hang out and play or communicate in some form with ANY animal of your choice is what i was getting at.

...or (since you opened a whole new level) any animal you would like to be!

I am hanging out with the animal of my choice, that's the beauty of it for me. Adn Tim, he may taste more or less like chicken, but there's just not enough meat to make it worthwhile, not even enough for an appetizer for one!

BTW, did you want specific ethnic dishes, or ethnic types of food. I see a lot of people posting specific dishes - that's a whole nuther ball of wax.
BTW, I left out Cuban and Spanish. Ther are just too many good foods out there.....

Fav foods - pretty much whatever Im eating at the time. Am partial to eastern, near&middle eastern cuisines, in all their glorious variety. Cuban/south american is mighty fine, as are many of the mexican cuisines. There are a couple of Aussie and NZ dishes I remember fondly. I dream of a grilled veggie sandwich I ate at a little place in Sacramento.

Favorites that occur in my diet most frequently:
Kettle Chips Black Pepper potato chips.
Jack in the Box's Spicy Chicken Sandwich.
Both of which are supreme exemplars of their category (potato chip, sandwich).
Pear, gorgonzola, candied nut salads (ok subs are apple, candied cranberries). Best = California Pzza Kitchen. Trader Joes comes a close second.

Pets - dolphin, if I had a waterfront home. Dogs and cats are good. Thought, after college, I'd never want to live with a bird again, but Beemer's a decent roomie unlike those bloody budgies!

glass - There's a reason air displaced half the water. I can adapt.
