I like In-N-Out. However, Sonic is better. If you guys from the rest of the country expect to find a Sonic here, bring a crying towel. You'll need it. I think there's one. It's somewhere in LA.

When you're at Torrey Pines, be sure and have your binoculars handy. :D

Hi Lioness,

Any idea how long you plan to be here?

We must start mapping out the itinerary, you know......

You'll have to prioritize the list by type of interest. Tourist attraction, theme park, historical interest, music (with type of music subsets noted). Some attractions may knock off more than one category at one event - for instance: concert by bay with ethnic food picnic. Or you could attend a RockyHorror friday midnight screening, which would cover several categories of oddity.

Bones - you too. Make a list.

What a wealth of information. I need to figure what I'm going to do, once I find out what day I have free and what mandatory stuff I have to do. (Selma, I don't do lists).

Thanks to all fo you for the great info. I'll be back once I know more.

The folks in Texas really think they have decent Mexican food. Oddly enough, I found a great German Deli about two blocks from the Alamo. It turns out that there were a lot of German settlers in that part of Texas after the Civil War. The German food tasted pretty German, so I assumed the Mexican food was also authentic. Both the German and Mexican food tasted pretty good to me. What do I know?

Just trying to temper your perception.

You know how Texans are. They also think chili isn't supposed to have any beans in it.

I've found good Mexican food in a few places east of New Mexico (like Juarez) but it takes some hunting.

I takes an appreciation of your lunch biting back.

Yes, yes. But we do have authentic Mexican food. You do know that immigrants are about to be the majority in San Antonio right? Just because it doesn't taste all that great to some doesn't mean it's not authentic.

There are a considerable amount of us (including me) from German descent around here. Fredericksburg is the huge hub of that settlement, but there are quite a number of us with grandparents and great grandparents who were full blooded German. It gets really interesting.

<btw, wasn't being snippy earlier, about the Mexican food. . .if you can find a hole-in-the-wall family owned place, you're better off. Casa Ole is NOT Mexican food> ;)

Just so you know, the name I was born with was Saxy Buff Leiter (the German equivalent of Smith). . .and my grandmother and her family still live in Breckenridge today, up there in the Germanic area.

Thanks TM! Been busy putting out friggin' fires around here. I swear, you'd think with as many degrees as there are running around this place, we'd be low on the moron count, but apparently not!
Should be good this whole week for posting, no one is here due to that little thing called spring break. Of course, I get Friday off as a holiday, so we'll see if I post from home or not.
