Earth Day

Postby GreatCarouser » Fri Apr 22, 2005 10:31 am

A number of us celebrate Earth Day today although some who celebrate choose different dates. I found it funny that Google's page link doesn't work but entering 'earth day' in the search brings up the info.

Does this holiday mean anything to anybody? What do you think BBB'ers?

Heard a report on the radio this morning and
Good Old Bush said he was going to "Get His Hands Dirty" today.

I think the House passage of the "energy" bill, opening up ANWAR for oil drilling, is a classic example of what has happened to the ecological movement in this country.

Corporate interests once again take priority over the common good.

Maybe Bush is going to drill the first test hole in ANWAR for EarthDay, and thats how he'll get his hands dirty?

Earthday - feels very "made up" to me, but perhaps Altoid will think its a big deal, and that will rub off over the years.

I'll water the tomato plant to celebrate.

Earth Day?

Well, I'll probably mow my lawn this afternoon in celebration.

Considering it's the only one we call "the world".

I heard a moment of a Bush speech yesterday where he spoke about the improved water and air. I gagged and changed channels before I even heard from when to when. No doubt they have excellent water filters and air cleaners in the White House. Maybe that's what he meant.
