Information needed about Raleigh, NC.

Hey, they say Network... so I'm networking.

Well, as of Monday I turned in my resignation at work... I was offered a contract position in Raleigh, NC. Which sounds strange, but I couldn't refuse the paycheck and it gets me back into the range that my skill set *should* be paid.

What ever.

This is one of those things that happen to technogypsies... got a job in a part of the country I've never been before.

The duration of this contract is not long enough to move my family, but too long to be having my paycheck sucked dry by hotel living.

As I am not moving my family, I'll need to have as much of my paycheck left over to send home as possible.

I mean CHEAP living.

So... any folks know about *cheap* housing (studio, converted garage, camp grounds... what ever... so long as going to the toilet does not involve a 100 yard dash down a moonlit path ...) in Raleigh, NC?

How can you stand to be away from home and loved ones that long? I've been tempted by similar offers, but family always keeps me close to home.

Well... I'd rather be home for the holidays, and such... but... I keep thinking of our military families.

In perspective... only 905 miles from home, within the country rather than in a war zone, and generally better pay than what our troups are getting?

I'll do my best to handle it.

Hop in my car and go. 905 miles.It's a '92... and since I'm unfamiliar with post carburated vehicular maintenance, and not as insane, or as able to function on sleep deprivation, as I was 25 years ago... I don't think there'll be too much to-ing and fro-ing.
