When I would come home from school, Mom would always have Merv Griffin or Mike Douglas on. In my young mind, I somehow thought of them as interchangeable show hosting units who would just decide between them who got to go on that day.
That's funny. When I first started reading the obit, I was thinking of Merv Griffin. I was thinking "he used to own the riverboat casino near here". But that was Merv.
I used to watch Mike Douglas' show long ago, and Merv's.
