Yes, so I gather.....I'm not much of a drinker myself, but perhaps I should think about it a little more, huh?...............

Clarinet, you are right......We do take our coffee seriously! :D Well....not really. We love it (or most of us who drink it do).

There's nothing better than that 1st cup of fresh coffee in the morning! Exception being.......if it's last night's coffee :yuk:

Yo, "clarinetfreek13"...A tooth for a tooth leaves everyone toothless as well. Then they can only enjoy coffee.

P.S. Welcome to the pits...er, pit.

Clarinetfreek,

Sorry to hear about your audition. There's always a next time, though...

Glad we can brighten your day. Go ahead, mock away, we're a tough crowd. However, coffee really is serious business. Without it, I die.

Excuse me, I have to refill my cup.

Well that stinks! What a shame.

Now I need coffee to comfort myself.

Ah... sorry to hear about your disappointment Cfreak.

I'm having a cup of Earl Grey at the moment. I had a Mocachino this morning with a biscotti - never had one before. It is Staff Appreciation Day here at "the firm" and they generously have a fancy coffee morning with choice of muffin, biscotti, danish and freshly mangled juice to celebrate. They also hand out, to each of us, a $50.00 gift certificate towards a meal in one of the downtown restaurants. This morning they played Aaron's CD while we mingled about. How kind of them, actually. (sniff)

Cat... there are still Safeways? holy........

Back to my tea.

We just appreciated our department admin (secretary) with flowers, champagne (sealed bottle, not drunk here at work), and chocolates. She generously shared the chocolates around.

I got a Dove caramel, bite sized bar. Just perfect to accompany a cup of coffee....

Nice appreciation .....

We, the lawyer with whom I am in a administrative share with, take our assistant to lunch on Friday in appreciation of her. I have another assistant so we had lunch together today. Still not comparable to their hard work but it isn't bad. I rather like the champagne idea though. Dom Perignon? Verve Cliquot was it? Both a favorite of mine. Don't go well with COFFEE though...

Perhaps not coffee flavor, but either one is excellent with strawberries...or better yet, chocolate dipped ones....or...heck, just leave the bottle and I'll drink it unaccompanied!

Ah, but the coffee goes so very well, the morning after the champagne.

I think I may treat myself to the thick syrupy substance our cafeteria calls cappuccino. It bears no resemblence (other than temperature) to any coffee I've ever experienced. Its lovely stuff, but its more a hot riff on a milkshake than coffee. It is caffeinated tho, and that is a good thing!

Has anyone tried Chai Tea? Big rage here as I saw it this morning on offer for the first time. I should have tried that.

Sorry off topic...

I wish we had staff appreciation days. Mostly we have staff depreciation days. And the people who get RIF-fed (Reduction In Force) lose their coffee privileges.

Usually too sweet for me (at least the way Starbucks makes it). I'll stick with strong, hot Earl Grey (double bergamont if I can get it...which incidently you can purchase as an essential oil to add in if you like. It has a lighter citrus taste when you do so. Genus: Citrus Aurantium Bergamia)

I've tried Chai Tea, Marye!!! OMG - it's my fave!!! Yummy-yummy in my tummy!! There ain't nothin' betta! lol

So, here's a question for all you coffee freaks - what's the Starbucks coffee (I think it's coffee) that's like really chocolatey and yummy?? I had it once and it might not be coffee, but it's super good!

That would be the "Mocha". It's sort of like a latte, but with chocolate syrup added. If you ask, they'll double up on the chocolate syrup.

If you make friends with the baristas, they'll make you cocoa out of the steamed milk and chocolate syrup but you'll still have to pay coffee prices.

I like the mochas very well, myself, the milk is necessary with the dark roast that Starbucks insists on. Of course, nothing beats the pumpkin pie spice that's available in the fall... :yum:

Mocha is Cappacino with chocolate and whipped milk - that may be what you've tasted. It is good, but it'll fulfil your daily caloric intake. :D

Iced mocha is a very refreshing summer drink!

I think they offer it in the bottled 'Frappacino' variety as well.

I've tried the bottled cappucinos and I think they're sick!! They're cold and too "liquidy" and they taste dilluted! :yuk:

(No offense to anybody who likes them) (-:
