87 degrees, UV index 11, rel. hum. 60%, winds 10 to 20 mph, mostly sunny. We keep all windows and doors open everyday--we have air conditioning but never feel the need to use it. Living in the foothills of the Ko'olau's we catch most of the breeze. It's comfortable, and we have a view of Pearl Harbor, too. At night the downstairs is closed up. Waves to 3 feet, Waikiki.

Cloudy and cool. Irene made the news here, too, complete with a photo of Brooklyn Bridge with no traffic on it.

All my family is safe and doing well.

We live on Long Island that took the Northeaset part of the storm.
Less Rain more wind.
We lost a huge bush in the back and part of my next door neighbors tree is down.

Surprisingly.... we had power up until 5PM on Sunday.
NO ONE could get through to the power company except the governor of NY.
The governor of NY told the radio stations that the power company said it is estimated up to a week before power may be restored to all.

Here at work. We are running on generator back up....

Time to get a cup of coffee... :-)

Thanks to all for the concern/well wishes!!

Thought I posted a week ago - I was home doing a garage sale and using a laptop. Wireless must have gone out when I submitted...
We've had some cool weather, but summer's back for a few days at least - 82, but quite humid yesterday, supposed to hit 89 today, mid-upper 80s Sat and Sun, but scattered t-storms. Labor day won't even top 70 though...
We caught some wind (35-40 mph gusts), cool temps (only got to 68 Sunday) and clouds this far west from Irene, but no rain. Husband's aunt and grandma in Old Saybrook, CT (right on the coast) lost power for several days, but escaped flooding or damage. The rest of our relatives and friends on the east coast got out without anything worse than some tree branches down and one flooded basement (which floods at the drop of a hat, so they were prepared).

Looks like about 68 and sunny for the kids first day of school next Tuesday!
