Dear Friends
Hello again. Again I have to apologize for being so in communicado lately, but I hope you can forgive me. I have much news to tell you about, so here we go.
We are almost finished tracking the new CD. For this disc we are concentrating on music that is Spanish, Latin , and Romantic, so last month I asked you folks to help me out with a name. After going thru your suggestions you left me at http://www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/63735, we came up with, “Solamente' Romanz”, which means "only romance". What do you think?
So last weekend, I took some cuts from the new disc and headed for the mountains to do some skiing. I took my portable CD player and headphones and proceeded to launch myself down the runs starting at 10,000 feet. My friends don't think that is very smart with my choice of professions, but I guess I am crazy! Also, Rachel, my wife, didn't like that I was listening to the CD while we were on the lift, so I promised her that I would only listen to it as I skied. It was really cool to listen to the new tracks while swooshing down the mountain. It was grand.
So I put a snippet from one of the new selections up on the website. There is a Real Audio sample and an MP3. The Real Audio does not sound as good, but will be faster to download. If you want a CD quality sample, check out the MP3!! You will also find a pic of me on the mountain and some pics of us recording in the new CCM studio! Here is the URL- just click on it. http://www.darrencurtisskanson.com/newrelease.htm
So let me know what you think of all that. I can't wait to hear from you. And thanks again for all your kindness and support. Talk to you soon.

Sincerely,
Darren Curtis Skanson
Colorado's Light Classical Guitarist
