We need to watch out who gets into this BB. A chess site I know has been hijacked by religious fundamentalists and a couple of people who questioned them got suspended from the site.
:(

Fortunately, I feel our moderators have their heads screwed on straight enough (as opposed to........) that we are fairly zealot-proof. :)
Of course, maybe I'm a zealot......no, I'm Julia Child........(drool).......must.....get.... meds.......
[ 01-30-2003: Message edited by: operatenor ]

liberals like to think they cannot be fundamentalistsa but they are a group that are as close to fundamentalism as religious guys.
BTW I'm VERY religious and I agree with liberals in most things but I wouldn't classify myself as a liberal since as I've noticed it ussually limits the outlook of a person.
anyway the term liberal is ussually applied nowadays to people who imitate the true liberalism of a few decades ago. by now it is just a pathetic name. sorry :(

Hi Henry, I'm sure there is a classification. My questions is: for what purpose? What other's "classification" I may or may not fall into matters to me not one whit (but then, I'm sure that's not news to anyone on this forum).
PS. You have some here concerned you may be some sort of zealot. Is that concern warranted?
[ 01-31-2003: Message edited by: operatenor ]

Hi Ethan.
I didn't get that interpretation from what HR said, but since you brought it up, it fits. Thank you.
I agree with what you say about everyone believing in something.

How did it come about that the word "liberal" has become perjorative?
