Nina Simone

Postby Nicole Marie » Mon Apr 21, 2003 6:39 pm

I just heard Nina Simone past away. Was anyone else a fan? She had one of the best jazz vocals, "Four Women" still is a favorite.
But besides a great singer she was a huge civil rights advocate. She was a great performer and will be missed.

I liked her work. Sorry she's gone. :(

I'm a jazz newbie myself, just scratching the surface of a fascinating genre. As such, I've heard her name, but I doubt if I could identify her voice from a recording.
It's always a shame when we lose a talented person.
