Amen, Al. Taste, behavior, personal goals have been heading downward for decades. I think the film, Network, a very good movie, was the first film (that I noticed) with star power that used the f-word. Films, and later, music, started using unnecessarily crude language primarily for shock value. The fact that it continues to be a selling point doesn't say much for us as a society. It would be good if the FCC started cleaning things up. They don't seem to be doing anything noticeable. The battle between censorship vs free speech has been over for a long time.
A re-evaluation of parts of the constitution is long overdue. SENSELESSLY CRUDE free speech should be eliminated. Unfortunately, there is no one in this country with the guts and stamina to initiate a clean-up. So, as you say, the future looks bleak.
Shos
