Here in South Florida, there seems to be some pirate FM radio stations blurting a lot of obscenities... I know, you can tune them out if you don't like it, but why do they have to put their signal right next to the religious radio station?

BTW I used to listen to Beethoven Radio when it was WTMI in Miami. What a loss. You can't find classical radio here anymore, except, now, of course on Beethoven.com. Thanks!

I remember when I could build FM and AM transmitters that used the commercial broadcast bands, but put out very low power. I don't remember the maximum power specification, but it was pretty low.

The FCC has regulations about broadcasting on commercial bands (and just about every other band you can think of), so if you can find out who is messing up the airwaves, you can turn them in.

Hopefully, the FCC in Miami will be more responsive than the INS in DC and nohthuhn Vahjinyah.

Thanks for the welcomes. I find it hard to navigate this site. It seems to freeze up my computer whenever I click on something. I think it happens when I am listening to Beethoven.com itself. Maybe my computer needs more memory?

Unfortunately, this site is quite slow. I realize that Beethoven.com's primary interest is in the audio, and the bulletin board is a bonus, but it would be nice if they could find a little more bandwidth to spare for us. :D

I am finding it easier now that I am on my MSNTV2 Media Player. That's even better!

One thing that the BBB does is personalize itself for each user. For example, I am only able to edit my own posts, and it keeps track of the messages I've read. I know it does this itself because there is continuity between the computer I have at work and the one I have at home, so there's a fair amount of processor activity involved in keeping the large number of messages tallied for each user.

I note that every time I change pages, it appears as though it goes to a blank page, then to the page I click on. It's a nifty feature, but it takes a little processor time, no matter how fast your connection.

And when it comes to navigation, I find it far superior to Yahoo's message boards. Since they forced the Beta version on everyone, conversations are impossible. I've griped to them, but since most of their boards are simply legal graffitti, they have little reason to care.
