In a move very similar to that which is happening in New York City, Boston's commercial classical music station, WCRB is being purchased by Boston's premier public service broadcaster, WGBH. WCRB will transition from being commercially funded to being a member supported station on 99.5, within what is normally the commercial portion of the FM broadcast band.
Nassau Broadcasting, which currently owns WCRB, also feeds the station's programming to three (3) of their other fully owned stations forming, "W-Bach, the Classical Stations of Maine". No word on what will become of that network.
