Now it's up to you...................

But if you're lucky enough..........

You will be next!

As the Christmas season approaches
and the New Year rapidly encroaches
trying to employ both logic and reason,
Does the work relate to the Christmas season?
Quod scripsi, scripsi.

A Navy Brig, the Hornet was lost,
in a storm off the coast of Mexico tossed,
Tell me please, before that year,
did the work in question appear?
Quod scripsi, scripsi.

Do strings and horns her performers comprise?
Sending beautiful notes to fill the skies?
Perhaps to mark an occassion festal,
Is, perchance, this work Orchestral?
Quod scripsi, scripsi.

Down from the mountains, the Rhine River flows,
Sustaining the land where the Rhine Grape grows.
The Composers' allegience to his homeland owing,
Past that land is the Rhine River flowing?
Quod scripsi, scripsi.

Counter to the orchestra's part,
is there perhaps a lone upstart?
Does a soloist, devoid of stagefright,
earn a place in the stages spotlight?
Quod scripsi, scripsi.

In Germany, where Ceaser fought,
Where Hops and Grown and Bier is bought,
In that land that two great wars have torn,
was the composer therein born?

I know my questions of history
are somewhat of a mystery,
but did you overlook or forget,
my question regarding the brig Hornet?
Quod scripsi, scripsi.

Sorry I missed this one....
---------------------------------------------
My research tells me....
The Hornet was lost

before the work was first written...........

In 1818-1819 Hornet operated in the West Indies and the Mediterranean. She participated in the anti-piracy campaign in the Caribbean during the 1820s, capturing one pirate schooner off Santo Domingo in late October 1821. While off Tampico, Mexico, on 29 September 1829, USS Hornet was dismasted in a gale and sank with her entire complement.

So many questions I could ask,
so much choice,
It's quite a task,
Does the work contain any voice?
