If the creature pictured is a haggis, it looks suspiciously like a platypus, not native to Scotland.

In Trivial Pursuit I once found out about the brimborion, a creature whose front legs were shorter than the hind legs, allowing it to climb hills easily. No doubt it succumbed to evolution. Poor bugger could never come down to mate, and they fought like Hell at the apex.

An ancient Scottish pagan (well it would have to be wouldn't it?) ocassion that coincides roughly with New Years.

Actually, that particular song was written (I believe) by Spike Milligen of the Goon Show fame. That should give you enough google ammo to figure out who sang it......
