Shapley,
the long island forecast is to be in the 40's during the day... 30's at night.

Thursday night into Friday..... 48 degrees and soaking rains....

Thanks. I checked with weather.com and they're calling for sunny and high in the upper 30's. Looks good.

I have to fly from there to Denver, where the weather looks less promising. I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Unfortunately, no. (Or fortunately for those who get tired of reading my posts. :) )

I'll be offline for a few days.

Everyone have a good week.

Serenity,

Thanks. It's good to be back.

I has expected to return home to find hundreds of posts, instead of just the dozen or so that accumulated in my absense. [sigh]

No, no time. Landed in New Haven Wednesday evening. I drove up to Bethany to make sure I could find the route (and to look for lodging closer to my meeting, there was none. Returned to New Haven, checked in the hotel and went to bed. Got up the next morning and spent about an hour trying to get out of New Haven (the street layout there is absurd), went to my meeting and then rushed back to airport.

The trip to Denver was even quicker, flew there in the A.M. and left early the same afternoon. I got home very late Friday evening.

Ah, yes, home sweet home. The streets on the East Coast are not meant for straightforward driving like the "X-Y grid patterns" you find from the Midwest to the Pacific Ocean. Streets here are for horse-buggy transit. It gives new meaning to the word "quaint".

Sounds like you had a very hectic trip....
I'm sure you're glad to be home!

Hopefully your next visit will provide time for a little R&R!!!!

I've noted that I've seen plates of spaghetti that were better organized than a map of Springfield, VA.

And I live in Springfield, VA, after spending my entire driving life in Orange County, CA.

Maybe this should go in the "Pet Peeves" topic, but one thing that bugs the heck out of me (except it's worse than "heck") is these Vahjinyah drivahs in left turn lanes don't pull into the intersection when the light turns green, so when it turns red again, they just sit there. They don't turn unless there's a break in the traffic during the green light. They don't turn when the oncoming traffic stops for the red, they just sit there with me sitting behind them. I've had one sit there through three cycles before I decided to go around him.
