REcently, when I click on my Media Player to start listening to Beethoven Radio, the Vonage Phone commercial loads up first before buffering for any music and I lose vital listening time...
Please,
GET RID OF THAT!

At least, play the music while the commercial is running.

it is VERY annoying but i'm sure that's helping pay for the expense of WMP.

if you turn down the volume and just watch the video clip it can be quite amusing!

It just interfered with me wanting to hear the Film at 11 right away. I didn't want to wait for the ad; it could have been in a separate pop-up or on the sidebar.

Woo Hoo, originally popular by the Rock-A-Teens in 1959, if I remember correctly. There's a great parody of it by Stan Freberg called "Those Old Payola Roll Blues."

I don't find it anywhere near as annoying as some other songs. Yeah, it's silly and dumb, but that's the era.

Now the beethoven mailbox is gone, is this a vestigial thread?

Anyone found anything creative to reduce spam?

I still laboriously look 'em up with spamcop and report them to wherever it says. Don't know if it helps but I'm down to around six regulars - canadian pharmacy, stock tips, anatomical enhancement, loans and fake watches.

Lately I've been logging onto their sites as Hannibal d'Cannibal @ [their spamsource] and sending a customer feedback message: "Guess who's coming to dinner". Makes me feel better at least.

I've got SBC Yahoo mail now that B.com e-mail is gone. I don't get much spam these days, except for those $%&!! investment ads, and those get flamed immediately.

I've got my email through my ISP, cox.net, and they've either got a really good spam filter, or I'm not on any spam lists (like that could happen).

I've got a few senders blocked in my Outlook settings, so that people I'd rather not hear from just get sent to a trashcan. They're not so much random spam as people I've done business with who seem to think I need to be informed of a special sale every two days or so.

If you're using Outlook as your email program, you can block entire domains (very nifty feature) or just specific addresses. And you can configure the blockage as a complete bounce, or route it to a holding bin, or route it to a trashcan.

I'm now with Verizon (FIOS is SO DURN COOL). They have an internal spam filter that I haven't been able to defeat, just to have what they consider spam sent to a different mailbox, which I have to access once a week to see if someone I want to hear (like an eBay customer) has sent me something.

I have the Norton spam filter on MS Outlook 2k on my home computer. I have no idea what they use at work, but I know that any email I send to my office with a link in it doesn't make it to my desktop there.

Although I did post a bit from work during lunch today, it isn't working any better. It's just peachy at home, though.
