Marye - I actually caught the video for that one day - had to watch it - just fascinated by the utter stupidity/anti-feminism/craziness....

My least favorite repetitive song growing up was:

I love a rainy night.....think I counted once - that line is repeated 47 times!

I'd say about half of REMs songs would qualify - my brother once said he figured they used a random lyric generator cause their songs made no sense. 'Personal Jesus' being a great example.

A 1960's Pittsburgh garage band, by the name of the "Arondies" did a song (aptly titled "69"). It was largely instrumental except for the interruption of the two word lyric...uttered only once...."69". This was the year I graduated and this more or less became our class song...although the meaning of the song was quite different. Cheers went up and the power usually went off when the 45 RPM recording was played (sneaked in) during the high school dances.

Aphrodite's Child had a song called Infinity that used to be played loudly from college dorm windows' back when I was in school. The lyrics were:

I'd think we'll have to include Enya songs (there are syllables, but are they words? Do they make up lyrics? Who knows?) and everything ever sung by Stevie Nicks. I've never understood a word of that, either.

Somebody made up an appalling set of lyrics to Rachmaninoff's Vocalise. It's on the CD I have of all different Vocalise performances. I don't remember them, and wouldn't recommend trying to find them.
