After seeing one of these movies again on the weekend, I just had to do this thread.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the new movie, "Knocked Up". Has anyone seen it?

I would have included Dr. Strangelove in the mix, but with a limit of five, it was a hard choice.

Mel Brooks films: Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, The End, Silent Movie, High Anxiety, et.al. are always good choices, but I suffered 'Brooks burnout' a while back, with movies like History of the World, Part I. I also enjoy Blake Edwards films: The Pink Panther series, S.O.B.; Skin Deep, What Did You Do During The War, Daddy?, etc. are always good fun, as well.

I was going to include Secondhand Lions, but I wasn't sure if it was classified as a comedy or a drama. Whichever the case, it is a great movie.

I really should have found room for Big Fish in my list. Like Secondhand Lions, however, I'm not sure that it would be defined simply as a comedy. It's much deeper than that, IMHO, probably on a par with Forrest Gump.

Are you talking about Trinity is still my name, the Sergio Leone classic? His films Boot Hill, My Name Is Trinity, and [/i]Trinity Is Still My Name are all classics, but I think My Name Is Nobody[/i] is the best of the Terrance Hill/Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western Comedies.

Trilogy is still my name.

Are you talking about Trinity is still my name, the Sergio Leone classic? His films Boot Hill, My Name Is Trinity, and [/i]Trinity Is Still My Name[/i] are all classics, but I think [/i]My Name Is Nobody[/i] is the best of the Terrance Hill/Sergio Leone Spaghetti Westerns Comedies.

I was just in a meeting using variants on quad and tetra. My brain obviously wasnt done with the game.

They are all available on DVD, but the quality of Boot Hill is really bad, to the point of being almost unwatchable. Pity, too, it's a really funny film.

For some obscure reason, that generated a visual of youse guys designing mutant fishies in the square, for the aquarium trade. I hope they turn out excessively pretty, and you make a bundle selling them.

I'm of the age to know all of this director's ouevre (blanking on his name right now...had it then it disappeared as I tried to write)

I agree with many of the above, let me add:
1 - Princess Bride
2 - Spaceballs
3 - Bringing up Baby (Katherine Hepburn goes kooky!)
4 - Madagascar (for the King Julian scenes alone!)
5 - can't remember title - along the lines of Conneticut Yankee in King Arthur's court - line leading up to joust scene - 'the chalice with the palace........, but the vessel with the pestle contains the brew that is true' - which gets all mixed up and they end up spilling both drinks....

how's that for all over the place...
