Wow - That was AWESOME....

I presume the kid's real, and the soundtrack isn't dubbed?

The kid is quite something. A lot of poise for 9 years of age.

This kid has made the local newspapers before. I seem to recall a Hartford Symphony concert where youths of various age groups played with the orchestra. He wowed everybody there.

No he is real! He played at this past Friday at the Talcott Mt Music Fest with the Hartford Symphony. He is real! His mom came to stop by the Beethoven tent later that night. I asked her his age and he is only 7! He studies violin on the graduate level at the Hartt School of Music here in Hartford and is looking at a move to Curtis over the next year or two. Mom is amazing and works very hard to keep him a "kid". While she and I were talking he was running around playing a game of tag with some other kids - he is a wild 7 year old with an amazing gift!

I was not sure of his age. His grandparents posted a response on the uTube website: "To my extremely talented 9 year old Grandson. You are absolutely amazing. All our Love Pa and Grandmama"

I took his age from that clue, but I guess his mom would certainly know how old he is.

Beethoven's father lied about young Ludwig's age.

Sorry my bad, I think she said he started to study at Hartt at 7 and started playing at around 5 or 6.

Well, the kid is amazing no matter what his age. I can't imagine having such ability and poise at his age.

(however, if I was his dad, I would cut his hair)

I'm glad to know he's real. I hope he stays interested, so that I can buy his holographic recordings, or whatever they have in 10 years time.

Hi! OMG, what a shock to discover both the link and the bulletin board on my son. Oh, my name is Sandra, and Brenden (the one with the violin) is my son. Thank you so much Nicole, you are awesome! We are going to try our best to come out and see the Autumn Concert of the WHSO on October 20th, it sounds great. If you are interested in other recordings of Brenden see the link http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=cawitches

Yes, Brenden is real, although I don't know if he is that good, but I really appreciate all the wonderful comments. He loves music. He started when he was about 4 1/2 years old up in NH using the Suzuki method. We moved to CT 2 years ago, and now he studies at the Hartt School. His teacher currently is Teri Einfeldt (Linda Fiore moved :( ), and he also takes lessons with Katie Lansdale. If you live in or near West Hartford come out and see Katie play at the Hartt School either solo or with the Lion's Gate Trio. She is one of the great ones, and especially listen to her recordings of the Bach partitas and sonatas. She also invited Brenden to attend her graduate level performance classes at the Hartt School, which did last year and is continue this year.

As for the hair, he grows it to donate for kids with cancer. He is working on his third time. It is such a wonderful thing he does, especially since other kids tease him about it.

Sorry for the long post. Again thank you Nicole and to all of you with such wonderful feedback.

Take care.....Sandra

How wonderful....That is a truly generous thing to do. He's got beautiful hair...I am sure that whoever receives it is very grateful. As for his playing....well....all I can say is WOW. He has a wonderful musical career ahead, I am sure.
