I hesitated a couple of weeks before mentioning Il Sorpasso because bringing up an obscure movie and declaring it "great" smells a lot like I want to be seen as a cognoscenti--which is not the case. I'm an ordinary person with ordinary tastes. I found this movie on late night TV and watched it out of boredom. You could say I saw it by accident.

Why this movie is not well known is a puzzle to me.

I'm not familiar with it at all. I'll have to look and see if it is available anywhere hereabouts...

Hope you're keeping safe and dry. I see Hurricane Flossie is heading your way. I hope you don't get flossed...

Looks like Flossie will bring a little rain and some big east and southeast shore waves on Wednesday. The forecast is above the 8 foot advisory level.

Speaking of Das Boot, it is going to be telecast here this weekend (actually, Saturday and Sunday).

And I finally saw Schindler's List - wonderful film and great music.

Is that the full-length mini-series or the 2+ hour movie version?

I guess it's the mini-series - all episodes back-to-back.

I've never understood why Excalibur didn't win the Oscar for cinematography. It lost to Reds.
