I don't care what party he is in....anyone who has dealt with United Airlines lately knows how frustrating their inept management of an airline is. I am surprised he didn't smack one of the UAL baggage people in the mouth. UAL is absolutley the worst airline going.

Sponsored by Ohio Democratic congressman Dennis Kucinich (along with more than 60 cosponsors), House Resolution 808 would authorize a Secretary of Peace to “establish a Peace Academy,” “develop a peace education curriculum” for elementary and secondary schools, and provide “grants for peace studies departments” at campuses around the country. If passed, the measure would catapult the peace studies movement into a position of extraordinary national, even international, influence.

The voters of Ohio have a lot to answer for. As for the “60 co-sponsors," there better not be one from Texas.

Utter silliness.

As for Filner, twit. Any jerk should know better. One in the public eye should know twice as well. However, I agree with Jamie about UL's customer service.

Heh. It's a pretty good bet that the voters in Ohio's 10th District are as blue as can be.

Wow. I'm having a sixties flashback. It sounds like something out of the Village Voice, or maybe off a street corner in the Haight-Asbury. You say this was an Ohio rep that introduced the thing? Oh, wow. I suddenly feel the urge to go out and draw a chalk mandala on the south porch of the building.

I'd've bought into it when I was twenty. Now that I'm older and a lot more cynical, I suspect that the business with lions laying down with lambs only happens when the lions aren't hungry. In real life, we need a few big dogs to keep the lions and lambs separate.

Major Clinton Fundraiser Wanted For Theft

Once again, it seems, the Clintons are plagued by fundraisers of questionable character, most of whom seem to be of Chinese heritage...

This is a Hillary Clinton fundraiser this time. She's in office, and trying to get into a bigger office.

For all the weird things that revolve around the Clintons this has to be waaaay up there on the “weird” scale.

Six members of the Paw family, each listing the house at 41 Shelbourne Ave. as their residence, have donated a combined $45,000 to the Democratic senator from New York since 2005, for her presidential campaign, her Senate re-election last year and her political action committee. In all, the six Paws have donated a total of $200,000 to Democratic candidates since 2005, election records show…

…It isn't obvious how the Paw family is able to afford such political largess. Records show they own a gift shop and live in a 1,280-square-foot house that they recently refinanced for $270,000. William Paw, the 64-year-old head of the household, is a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service who earns about $49,000 a year, according to a union representative. Alice Paw, also 64, is a homemaker. The couple's grown children have jobs ranging from account manager at a software company to "attendance liaison" at a local public high school. One is listed on campaign records as an executive at a mutual fund.

So, if you get $49K a year are you going to give $5-6K donation to your favorite politician?

So, is this one FINALLY going to be the one that gets traction? Years ago I would have said yes. Now after more than a decade watching the Clintons skate time and again, I'm not so sure. It does look like the story is starting to get some attention.

When donor information is so easy to get there might be some other big donors (who make less than they contribute) out there.

It doesn't really matter. If the donations turn out to be improper (and I'm sure they are), all Hillary has to do is return them (actually, all she has to do is say she'll return them), and her slate is magically clean. The same goes for other politicians, mind you. There's no controlling legal authority, as Al Gore would say, to enforce upon them any responsibility for these actions. The fundraisers can go to jail, or disappear (ala John Huang), but the politicians are in the clear once they acknowledge the funds were improper and say they are being refused.

Senator Craig is a sleaze. But he's not running for the presidency, and we are supposed to be tolerant of that kind of behavior...

I'm not from Idaho, and it looks like the voters there will deal with the issue.

As been evidenced time and time again, Republican suspected or proven to be sleazy resign; Democrats don't.

Regardless of the hypocrisy, I'd feel better with him gone. Of course I'd felt better with franks gone, but I'll take what I can get.

As I'm holding my nose, I would point out there is a distinction between sleazy, and hypocritically sleazy....

I'm not particularly knowledgable about Sen. Craig's career. Has he taken some strong position against same-sex restroom solicitation? I wasn't even aware that was within Federal jurisdiction.

In what way does his sleaziness rise above run-of-the-mill Washington sleaziness?

BTW, the Republicans are pressing him to resign, as they should. It's a bit late to begin to claim innocense, having already pleaded guilty.

Given the current crop of Republican hard line moral hypocrites, no, he doesn't stand out...............unless it's that "wide stance..........

BTW, it wasn't a Federal crime - state.

That's my point, he is (soon to be was) a Federal legislator, so I doubt he took a position, hypocritical or otherwise, on the issue with which he is charged.

Clinton Campaign To Donate Fugitive's Donations To Charity

Like I said, she's free and clear. There'll be no investigation, no effort to find out if Mr. Hsu was 'laundering' money for the campaign, nothing. It's SOP.
