I tried to get to the b.com home page a moment ago. I clicked on the icon in my favourites box, and waited. After a couple of minutes Internet Explore gave me the 'page not available' note, so I clicked 'refresh', the home page opened rather quickly. I opened the 'community' menu and clicked on the 'bulletin board' menu item. After about 90 seconds, the bulletin board partially appeared, with a 'fatal error' at the bottom. Again, i clicked on 'refresh' and the board came up in 20-30 seconds. I then clicked on this forum, and it took about a minute to partially open, again with the 'fatal error'. I was able open this message window only about five to six minutes after visting the board.

I think I can see why there are so few people posting today.

What the heck!? I tried posting pictures in the Cuties thread, and it told me I was limited to pictures 550 pixels wide or less. :curse: 650 wide has been an internet forum standard on many boards, why was a smaller width chosen? Especially when so many forums mods now offer the option to resize or scroll larger pictures automatically. Strange decision, I do say.

Not only that, I've seen pictures vastly larger than that posted many times on these boards.

This is the first time in 2 days of trying that I've been able to load a page in under 5 min.
Even so, its been many failures today.
I miss y'all!

The Reply button is at the top of the page, but its much much easier to use when its at the bottom, pretty please.

You could always try using the BBB at night, like I do.

I've had no trouble with the new format at all. I haven't tried a long post yet, or a quote. That might change my opinion, but so far the new BBB works much better than the old one.

I guess this slow bulletin board is only a North America thing, or to be a bit more precise, it is at least a Non-India-and-non-New Zealand thing. :D

There is a green-with-white-letters 'Post Reply' button just below (and to the left) of the last post in a page.

It would be nice if the board turned white during winter.

Like I said a few posts ago...

The response time now.. when there is probably very few people on the system is
much better than the old servers.

I rarely had the slow response time on the old servers that I now see with the new servers
during the days.

Perhaps something could be tweeked to fix?

Maybe they've outsourced the Bulletin Board to somewhere in the Indian Ocean, resulting in better service there... :D

I haven't had any speed issues from work or from home since the upgrade. I still do get that earlier problem where once in a while the page never loads. They blamed that on the load sharing software.

It seems that the ones most affected are me and Shapley.......hhmmmmm, conspiracy?

Regardless, it has the same effect.

It's very sluggish from the office, but I blame the IT crew's paranoia (which is justified - the paranoia that is).

Hi Ya'll,

Sorry for the trouble. We've actually peaked out our 10Mb fiber connection. I'm trying a few things to reduce the bandwidth usage but we're kinda stuck for the moment. Sorry!

I wish it was a good problem, but it turns out it was poor design on my part  I went through and reduced a few images in size today and that knocked a whole 3 Mbs off our usage so things should be speedier today. Let me know how it works for ya'll. Thanks!

And for you picture mongers, I did fix the allowable picture size and set it back to 650. I had it bumped down for a bit because I was working with a menu down the left and it would have blown the margins out. More tweaks on the way... :P

Are we going to see the fix to the trimming of the right side content soon?

The pages seem to be loading much faster. I clicked aroung a few threads randomly, and did not receive any timeout messages. It seems to take about 15 seconds or less to load a page now, that is a vast improvement.
