I just went back and re-installed RP.

After getting initial security error message...
the B.com stream loaded and started to play.....

thanks.. so far today there have been no major issues since re-installing RP.

The key will be tomorrow morning when I sign in and see if i can get the
b.com stream loaded without jumping through hoops...

Well... Bad News...

I cannot get into RP this morning....
Even had to reboot my computer....

I get the following after signing onto RP & going to the b.com link to start the stream:

loading....
b.com.....
loading....
b.com.....
loading....
b.com.... etc...

this morning I let this run to see what would happen and
it cycles out and sends an error message to start over.

It took 30 minutes of signing in , signing out, clicking on the b.com rp link...
clearing cookies, temp internet files, before RP loaded the stream...

Yup.. I'm at that point...

yesterday I sent a note to RP with my complaint and they wanted my email to send a response...
well.....

let's just say the clock is ticking on RP.... if they ignore my note to figure out what is going on...
I will torpedo my subscription... (something I really do not want to do) and listen on WMP....

When I get into RP.... the stream is choppy..... goes from 96kbps to 32 or 21 kbps...

then kicks me off the site telling me

"This secure link has expired...
click on b.com to reconnect...."

ARGH............

It seems it can't maintain the 96KBPS stream....
choppy and keeps going down to lower bandwidth.....

It's now on 21kbps.....

the problem is i just spent alot of money on these BOSE headphones...
there is a BIG difference using these headphones between 32kbps and 96kbps...

I sent another complaint email to Real Player. they ask about feedback on their product...
I'm at the end of my rope here.....

stream just broke up as I'm typing this out and went from 96 to 32 kbps...

I still am not experiencing the problems you are. [knock on wood icon] It would seem to me that you have some sort of compatability problem between RealPlayer and your hardware or some other functioning software.

Periodically, when I change web pages on Internet Explower, RealPlayer will 'flicker' and rebuffer. I have suspected that malicious pop-ups are interfering with the stream before being blocked by my adware blocker, but I'm not computer savvy enough to say positively that that is the case. I also have one program installed that causes a loss of stream temporarily when it opens, which I have attributed to a memory issue, although that is also guesswork on my part.

I still say that I miss running software in DOS. Unlike Windows, DOS never pretended it could multi-task. We dinosaurs get sentimental like that.

Yes I agree with you that pop-ups etc... can interfere with the stream...
I don't want to jinx this thing but at about 9AM EST.... the stream stabalized.....
and is running on 96kbps....

BTW - I am a dinosaur... an old dos man myself!

I just wanted to take a moment and say for the past few days...

KNOCK WOOD!!!

I have not had any login issues with RP....
Hope I'm not jinxing this...

I did send a number of complaint emails to RP...
No One ever responded, but maybe the message was received and they fixed their end....

Appears RP had a global issue.

Yes.. It's back..
I believe I have solved the RP stream connection issue I've been experiencing....

I still get

Loading....
B.com...
Loading...
B.com....... etc..........

when this occurs, I let it cycle all the way through (takes 5-10 minutes).
I then get an error message from RP telling me to go back to B.com's website and try to reconnect.
I do that and RP goes right to the B.com stream... weird but it works....

Back up and listening on RP now!!!

That is weird. Mine has never taken more than a minute to load, except in cases in which it doesn't load at all.

When it does fail to load, it will normally give me the 'please try again later' message within a couple of minutes. When that happens, I usually go to the B.com site and load from there. If that fails, I load WMP and listen to B.com on WMP.

On rare occasions, both RP and WMP have failed, in which case I do without, or load a CD.
