The number one song on the day the wife was born was “Till the End Of Time” by Perry Como.

Mine? On July 16th, 1948 the number one song was….”Woody Wood-Pecker” by Kay Kyser.

I remember that song. It was in some movie. The song was more memorable than the movie, apparently....

I LOVED that song! Hadn't thought of it in years. It was popular in 1959 or 60. I lived in Germany at the the time and was on a camping trip with the Boy Scouts throught Switzerland and France when it came out. We all sang it and the "flying Purple People Eater" about 200-300 times a day. By the end of the trip our scoutmaster was a gibbering wreck! :crazy:

Sorry, I can't get it down to the day. These all refer to the year.

Seems a Depression is a great spur to creativity. "Gone With the Wind" came out the following year. Mind you, I don't think the movie has aged nearly as well as those songs.
