Bump-bump-ba-dump-da-dump, da dee dee, da dee dee, da dee dump...

Superbowl Coke commercial, with bugs stealing a napping picnic-er's soda. Yup. To the sound of Peter's theme.

There was no Wolf.

Will have to look online for that commercial as I was with the kids, then falling asleep with Bella in the rocker for the Superbowl. Missed the whole thing.

Did take Pumpkin to an OrKIDStra concert a couple of weeks ago featuring - Peter and the Wolf! Yes, I voluntarily went to this. Pumpkin was bored by the 4 pieces they did before (featuring instruments that are featured in PatW), but really enjoyed PatW. The narrator is a local storyteller (does a piece on our PBS channel regularly...) and did a great job. He used various kitchen implements to represent the characters: bird - a couple of spatulas, duck - pie cutter attached to a ladle, Peter - small broom (since he's the strings) with a cap, cat - strainer (with those little triangles on the ends to hook to your pot), wolf - a 4-sided grater (sharp teeth!), hunters - cookie press....can't remember what grandfather was. Anyway, it was a lot of fun and Pumpkin giggled through most of it.

I watched the game with a couple of my sons. They said "That's familiar, dad. What is it?" I was very pleased they recognized it as classical. The game was excellent, too.

Grandfather was an oven mit and cap. Just asked Pumpkin last night - he remembered.

Checked out the commercial - cute! love the fountain of coke at the end and the fake bottle made of butterflies that the guy tries to grab.

THe library storytime featured Peter and the Wolf last night. First the book then the CD. Altoid was pleased to know she had a copy at home. She can feed the CD player now, so she's happily working thru her collection.
Altoid - curiously strong.
