I'm finding that far too many people I admire, either through their work or personally, are dying.

I will make it a point to watch my DVDs of Grand Prix and Dr. Zhivago this week. There's no way I could fit Lawrence in.

Ditto....the good news is that we are still alive to reach that point. The bad news is that we aren't getting any younger either

Thanks, Shap, for posting this. I was unaware. Jarre was truly one of the greats of film music. I have Lawrence and Zhivago on DVD and Passage on cassette. I would watch them just for the music. The great stories and David Lean's direction make them immortal.

No problem. I agree he was a great composer.

I noticed that Nicole Marie played music from Lawrence of Arabia in the morning. I don't know if she was aware of his death and played it as a tribute. I had not yet read the obit at the time, and was not aware of his death at the time the music was played. It was fitting tribute, however, whether intended as such or not.
