Market manipulation

Postby Giant Communist Robot » Tue Mar 31, 2009 8:04 pm

A few years ago when Bigjon asked me about this I scoffed at the idea. I takes a lot of money to move the ES contract (S&P 500). Lately I've seen some evidence it does happen, but I don't want to be specific. It disturbs me that there is a big gap between cash and futures. Why would this be so?

Let me check this out: sniff, sniff--I think something may happen Wednesday.

Or not. Could just be funds whipsawing things around to make a little. But then there's that gap...

I had suggested that Iran was doing that back when they were flush will oil monies. Now, I'm not so sure they're the culprit, but I do believe manipulation is afoot.

Investing in our share market is like walking down the main street of Dodge City without a six-gun.
