gateway - computer hackers

Just received an email...supposedly from B.Com as follows:

Dear Beethoven Member’s Club Member,

It has come to our attention that our payment processor’s gateway account was compromised by computer hackers between May 1st and May 4th. While it appears that the unauthorized party did not issue any transactions against your account, there is a possibility that they were able to access information about your account including address, phone number and email address. As far as we understand, they were not able to gather any credit card numbers or bank account information. Just to be safe, please monitor your credit card and credit reports carefully. If you have any questions, please call us at 860-525-1069. Thank you for your business and support for Beethoven Radio

Right after that, I also received a "recall" on the email. So now, I don't know what to believe. As if the original email was not bad enough....they sent it to a mailing list that contained email addresses for presumably all of the B.com Members. sheesh..........Why did they NOT blind copy everyone so that everyone would not have all the email addresses of all the members....

What the heck is going on!

Nope...not me. The member was angry that they included the email addresses.....dumb, dumb, dumb.

I received the same email and was concerned as well.
Got the same email about "recalling" what was sent.
Also received the email from the B.com Sub that was not happy about
the CC list not being BCC.

I am hopeful that no one's CC info was compromised and
this was a poor prank being pulled by a disatisfied individual.

Perhaps Chris or Sarge can chime in and advise here?

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry for the trouble. The email was, unfortunately, not a hoax and it was an error on my part when I sent out the notification email that everyone's emails appeared in the header instead of being hidden. You should receive a follow up email today (with the emails appropriately hidden) with an apology.

Indeed our Member's club payment processing account was hacked and some information could have been compromised so we sent that notification out just in case so that everyone could keep their eyes on their own cards and accounts.
