Hello All! I haven't reported in some time. I hope all of you are fine and dandy.
And here to report my most recent additions: finally I have Mozart's symphonies -- the complete set with Charles Mackerras and the Prague Chamber Orchestra. I first came across these performances here at BR. Back then, the whole set was selling at a price a couple of cents shy of $100 (and which is still listed on Amazon, by the way), but last year it was repackaged and is now selling at a fourth of that price.
And entering my collection for the first time (in a way) is Haydn. For the bicentenary of his death, Sony has brought out a box of the symphonies recorded by Tafelmusik and Bruno Weil. It has 21 of his symphonies, including most of the S&D and all the Paris ones.
And finally, the Op. 33 string quartets, played by Quatuor Mosaiques.
Even though I love the music from the Classical era, I had very little of it represented in my collection. So now I have lots of listening ahead.
