We already have seen it. First the European Union, then the U.S., have increased agricultural subsidies.
Provision of food is a sensitive matter, and many people get upset at the thought of others controlling their food supply, so they don't mind paying subsidies. Those of us who provide the food don't like the subsidies one little bit.
Unless, of course, they come our way. Anyone want to lobby a Congressman?
