The End of History

After countless conflicts and struggles, and a successful process of humanity learning by its mistakes, a kind of plateau will be reached. Thereafter, although scientific, economic, intellectual and artistic creativity will continue, all the 'big issues' will have been resolved, and history as we have known it will come to an end.

I think the end of history is some way off yet.

There are the Water Wars to come, and population shifts as Global Warming hits (if it ever does) or, worse by far, global cooling. Then there is the impact of economic refugees, the ones that plague the U.S. and E.U., and Australia now that there's a kinder government there.

All in all, plenty of material for history to work with.

Thus, if Goering (or whoever wrote that) is correct, as long as there are men, there will be war, and thus there will be history.

In one of the books of The Chronicles of Narnia series, there is a line about there being 'long expanses of peace in which the historians had nothing to write about but the passing of kings'. That may be true on Narnia, but I don't expect we'll see it here on Earth.

Not izzactly. It should be "as long as there is a history of men." The A of B is C does not mean as long as there is B there will be A (A is a subset of B).
