We allow vines in the woods: Wild grapevine, Trumpet vines, Japanese Honeysuckle, but not around the house. I made the mistake of planting English Ivy at the old house, It was a chore keeping it in check. It would creep beneath the boardwalk and I would find it cropping up far from the trellis it was supposed to grace.
