Abby (really it's AB for ankle biter)
I found Abby and her mom Buffy on the street in Dec 2008. They'd been turned out by someone and were collarless. There were being stalked by a coyote so I don't know if there had been other puppies. The shelter estimated Abby at no more than 3 months old, she was still trying to nurse in the early days. There is a special corner of Hell reserved for people who abandon dogs
Buffy the moth slayer
Haggis. Haggis has a place in my heart that will never be replaced. I've had him since 2003 and he turned seven this year. He is the world's greatest ball catcher and just a good guy to pal around with. He goes in the car with me when we look for stolen trucks. Everyone shies away from him but he's really a wimp; he's terrorized by Buffy and Abby. He was tormented (read "tortured") by a small boy before his first family deposited him in the shelter and he becomes very quiet and subdued in the presence of any child. It's troubling to know a future serial killer is growing up in my neighborhood.
