The conspiracy of Zen, crops up now and again,
by conspirators conscious of fashion.
While ‘Star Trek' rears its head, though Haggis thought it dead,
admitting he hates it with passion.
The dwarfs with their anvil chorus, and Cleopatra, worshiping Horus,
dons her Zen-look-a-like ring.
Marc Antony, the Roman Sailor, recognized Elizabeth Taylor,
as the one doing the Cleopatra thing.
Then a trekkie post most odd, with a Salvador Dali nod,
brought the Well-Digger's ass back to view,
as the Well-Digger was digging, the coffee Bottom was swigging,
made the war, about nothing, seem much ado.
Too deep, it may seem, in the Well-Digger's dream
had he dug, and awakened we know not what.
For here, like a bad check, reference to Star Trek,
slipped in, tying the thread in a knot.
Or, perhaps not, for the source of the knot,
was a remnant of theory ‘Ball of String'
which Haggis brought round in the wake of the sound
of that exploding salmon-haggis thing.
Bruce Springsteen, through a ‘boss' reference was gleaned,
and the ‘supernova' became a cheap auto.
Out of this confusion, the technicians, through fusion,
created foul-smelling braunschweiger gelato.
While we gave up hope on the Rubble Telescope,
as we returned to the Fields Elysi-an.
Tim Robbins, though dead, was placed at the head
of a towboat to which Lula ran.
On the barge sitting, Lula a new skirt starting knitting
from the hawser as, for Michigan, they started.
The hawser grew weak and finally did break
setting both barge and Lula adrift as it parted.
On ice or on aground the barge was soon found
by gelato miners who took Lula,
though unhurt but in need of a skirt,
to Wal-Mart's department of Hula.
There, freshly skirted, she was soon alterted
to the presence of the Men in Black.
Who, in the nick of time distracted by an exploding mime,
failed to see her escape out the back.
With Bottom in tow she wove to and fro
through the next series of difficult prose,
with tenors singing and accusations flinging
regarding mare's urine mixed with gelatos.
As the conspiracy was solved, the thread soon evolved
to a discussion of matters of Grammerica
which by my computation is some little-known nation
found somewhere 'tween Italy and America!
