I'm very happy with Amazon so far. As I said above, they have audition tracks, and this is a huge plus as far as I'm concerned. I must have gone through the best part of a dozen recordings of the Beethoven piano concertos before I settled on the Brendel set. I would have spent hours in a record shop doing that, and trying to sort out Beethoven from ambient shop noise.

When they accept the order, Amazon say it will be here in 4 to 6 weeks. It usually turns up in under 3.

I've had good luck with Amazon. The ordering part is easy and as Dai says, the previews are good. I both, order CD's and download music. I find that their music downloads are not as restricted to use as iTunes. Frankly, I've given up on iTunes due to limited libraries and the non-copy coding that they use.

I order from both Amazon and Barnes & Noble, and have good luck with both. The selection varies. Sometimes I find a greater selection at Amazon, other times at Barnes & Noble, depending on what I am looking for.

Hey...all you BBB posters...I know embedding the weblink in your text is cool and neat and all, but you guys often link to sites that are verboten to our IT police here at my company...therefore, when I click on the link, I get directed to a big blue "Violation" screen, that I am sure someone is logging. Is there any way that we can see what we are about to link to on those embedded links? Thanks for any help you can give. (PS...I just got the "violation" screen on your link Haggis....not that there is anything remotely improper with it...it's just a forbidden site for us here at work)

Jamie,

Right-click on the link (if you're using Window's explorer). They you can check the link on the 'properties' tab that comes up. That'll tell you what the link is without having to access it.

I would guess other browsers operate in a similar manner, but I'm not familiar with them.

Good point, the link was to a Youtube video with George Carlin making fun of Earth Day. The language was definitely NSFW and I should have mentioned it, sorry.

It only takes 4 chords to be a rock star....This is pretty funny, but it requires a bit of knowledge of pop music. I stopped counting at around 20 songs...all based on the 4 same chords. Give a listen:
