small world.... that's where Fair Anne was born and grew up.
While her Mom was living we visited often, she lived on Avenue A.

The performance yesterday for the Magic Flute went VERY WELL!
The theatre was small but packed!
Sets could have been a bit better, costumes were excellent!
They had 3 sets of performers for each part. So I cannot name the individuals as they insert for the program was for Saturdays performance, not Sunday.... ugh..
ANYWAY...

Tamino did a fine job. But he seemed nervous at times and would rush through some arias.
Papgeno did a fabulous job as the half-human bird catcher... He was enthusiatic and exciting.
The Queen of the Night was excellent. Her singing at times was a little weak but when it came time for the Revenge Aria... She nailed ALL those High Notes
IMHO - Pamina (Queen of the Night's Daughter) was by far the best of the cast! Her stage presence, command, and voice was truly a pleasure to watch.

Orchestra was condensed and received a standing ovation from the audience after the performers took their bows.

It was a fun experience....

I went to Katz;s Deli afterwards only to be disappointed that they had rented the establishment out for a private 50th party
and no one was allowed in....
I'll have to make a trip to the city just to get my pastrami!

Fair Anne and I LOVE Katz's. Sadly we've not been back to NYC since her mom died, Katz's was walking distance from her place.... (BTW i had streetname wrong Columbia not Ave A...)

Just when you thought it was safe to turn on your radio.... Sir Stew is in all next week June 7 - 11, 10am to 3pm. Mid Morning Mozart, Film at Eleven, Bach's Lunch, Guitar Fun at Half Past One, Two O'clock Matinee !!!!

Should have time to tune in everyday - not the whole time - have a gazillion meetings next week. This is what happens when both bosses go to the same conference (today-Fri) and we were off Monday... Just added a third meeting to next Wednesday's schedule - and that's after our 1.5 hour 'state of the department' talk. Not planning to get a damn thing done next Wednesday!

That was the local high school, I think it was maybe girls' fastpitch. It isn't supposed to be on the member stream but it's on the free one.

I believe someone forgot to flip the switch to keep the music going for the subscribers....
This happened before and H.R.H. took care of cutting over when the sports program came across the 128k stream...
