What is wrong with the management at B.com.
Why are they doing this to the paying subscribers?

I guess the IT team will need to change the logo of "The World's Classical Radio Station" after August 28

GREAT NEWS! Apparently, they are going to keep the subscription service at $10.00 per month. If I understood Nicole correctly, those of us with a prepaid subscription will just continue on. I am not sure if we will get "live" broadcasts etc with Nicole or Sir Stew hosting, but at lease we'll continue to get the great "mix" of music that we've all come to love. The banner at the B.com main screen didn't mention a prepay option...I hope that we won't have to do it monthly. In any event, it's good news to us long time and loyal listeners and I am happy for Nicole Marie.

Excellent. I've kept hoping they'd find a way to keep us available.

I'm not sure how much it costs to broadcast over the net. I would hope they could find enough of us paying customers to justify the cost, even if they have to lose the free stream. I know the free stream helps people find them, so it may be harder to expand the base.

I can't quite get the hang of this Finding Nemo soundtrack. It just seems out of place here on B.com. Too jazzy and big-bandish to be classical, in my humble opinion.

I didn't see the film, but that's the second time I've heard them play that. I thought is was listed as Finding Nemo the other time, as well, but my memory isn't as good as it once was, at least as far as I can remember how it once was...

I wonder if the Jazzy music could have been from Road to Perdition. I know it had a few jazzy numbers, but I don't recall now what those pieces sounded like.

I have the Road to Perdition soundtrack, but I''ve only listened to it a couple of times. I don't recall it having that much jazz music, but I could be mistaken.

You'd be surprised how costly it is to broadcast 24/7 on the Internet. Other stations afford it by allowing only 25 to 50 online listeners at a time. Beethoven Radio allows thousands. The bandwidth is substantial and costly. Not to mention the huge royalty payments we make. We understand that we will lose a large number of fans who will not transition over to our subscription service. They will be missed greatly. I am sad that economic reality forces us to take this step, but when one ponders the alternatives, it could be worse. I'm listening to the subscription broadcast right now in my home studio, and the quality is fantastic. Come join us. Sir Stew

Is this due to a drop in requests since the free stream was dropped?
