I'm glad the stream is continuing. I'm also glad I bought a slot! How does the 500 streams thing work? Does it mean you can have 500 people listening ant any one time and no more than that? Not that it matters to me. I listen when Americans are safely tucked up in bed, and I usually have the forum, if not the station, to myself.

I'll probably haunt the bulletin boards but I don't listen enough to make it worth $120 a year, bummer :(

Hello Dai Bread-

To answer your question.. Yes! The 500 streams are set so 500 people can be online at one time and no more. At this point we are at over 200 sold so we are doing good! We need the 500 to cover costs but it has become a full time job just to reply to all the questions that have come in and the response has been huge! We had no idea you liked us so much!

Thank you!!!!! :jump:

BTW Nicole Marie, I've often wondered why you don't have advertising for international companies at least on your stream if not on the local broadcast. Several fast food chains come to mind, for instance.

Hello dai bread-

We have looked to national and international advertisers but they tend to want to buy banner ads and then you only get paid based on click through rates. Yes we make a few hundred a month on that but not enough to cover costs. Advertisers still are gun shy about internet radio and spots on the stream. They like our AM signal but are still gun shy about the dot com. Many in the industry are having the same problem.

But the real big reason is the royalty payments... we have to pay more and more each quarter and it is getting out of control. Now there are rules to pay the copyright, performer, publisher etc. Everyone wants a cut so the rate is out of control!

We broke 300 so we are doing great on the number of sign up! Thank you all so much!

Check to make sure you're actually trying to get to your member stream and not the free stream. I had shortcuts to both in my favourites. You may have to create a new shortcut.

I had no problems this morning. This is the first time I've tried it since the free stream ended.

seems to have worked itself out - stream came right on today. Woo hoo! Would have complained to our IT people if they started blocking for some reason!

Got in fine today. but have been having some dead air since 2pm (eastern time). don't know if the 'commercial blocker' isn't working.... off in a few to get the kids and see if their Grammie's train is on-time!

The dead air was apparently a technical glitch at B.com. T/M and I suffered it, as well.

My linkie brought the stream right up this AM...easy peasy. So far so good. And with the limited internet listeners, I feel like B.com is my very own private radio station. Maybe they should market it that way.
