“The news here isn’t really that they’d rather have a ‘Security Committee’ deal with alleged rapists than the local P.D. The whole point of starting a utopian commune is that it’s as insular as possible. No, the news here is that there’s apparently enough of a problem that they felt obliged to publish a pamphlet dealing with the subject at all. I confess, I haven’t been to any tea-party rallies so you’ll have to tell me: Are there a lot of ‘here’s what to do if you’re raped today’ fliers circulating at those too?”

And yes, I think that sexual assault occurs at Tea Party events too, and that they dont talk about those things because its part of their culture to believe its the woman's fault, and that it would make them look bad to admit it in public "we dont air our dirty laundry, dear".
No, I'm not 'above that'. That kind of crap happens.
The Teaparty 'types' are the people who said the woman who went to a bar to make a phone call was 'asking for it',
that sexual harrassment laws are unwarranted government intrusion, etc. The Occupy types are greedy selfish twits who want something for nothing.
I dont care much for either group.
I think the Occupy people are idiots.

Apparently, they are too busy occupying town squares to protest the lack of jobs to take the $150/day being offered...
