"long election process"
???

Please tell me you're being tongue in cheek??

The only presidential candidate in modern history who proclaimed that everything before he was nominated for president is/was off limits?? No reporting of school or college grades? no interviews of friends or acquaintences from his past?, no release of prepared papers for school or any other venue? no interviews of childhood friends? and (remember??) no questions about his birth certificate? Remember these were his demands and a compliant (and fawning MSM) totally caved his demands.

None of this was ever questioned by the MSM then or now.

Please tell me you don't believe that the MSM has protected this man since he showed up?? The MSM has had video of him going back to the 80's and refused to release it.

The L.A. Times decided in 2008 to withhold a video featuring then presidential candidate Barack Obama and Rashid Khalidi, a pro-terrorist radical and one-time spokesman for the late PLO head Yasser Arafat, rather than allow the public to view the video and make up their own minds.

According to the L.A. Times report, the video shows Obama reminiscing about meals prepared by Khalidi's wife, and "conversations that had challenged his thinking " but released no other details of the video and still refuses to release it today.

I respect you Jamie, but please tell me you are not that naive???

When I look back (honestly) at my college days...all I can say is that I've done a lot of changing since then. I suspect most people have...no exception for Obama. I'll be interested to see the video.

In January 2008, Obama promised to bankrupt coal-fired power plants with his new environmental regulations. Consider this a promise kept:

GenOn Energy Inc. plans to close five of its older coal-fired power plants in Pennsylvania over the next four years.

The company, based in Houston, said Wednesday that tough new environmental rules make it unprofitable to operate the plants, which generate a total of 3,140 megawatts of electricity. The plants are in Portland, Shawville, Titus, New Castle and Elrama. Two plants in Ohio and one in New Jersey will also be closed. The company said the timeframes are subject to further review based on market conditions.

Me, I changed from a wild-eyed radical single feminist, convinced that I could do the same math as the boys and wanting the same paycheck as the boys, and turned into a placid widowed gramma, still convinced I can do the math better than the boys and deserving a better paycheck than most of the boys (not that I'll get it, I work for the feds). Oddly, I didn't change all that much, but the world changed around me.

Scary, that.

It seems to me that our current president is rather casual about insulting various among his 43 predecessors or comparing himself to those who he believes he’s better than. I can't recall any other president who routinely made fun/ridiculed the members of the most exclusive club in the world. For shame.

The guy does seem rather full of himself.

Spending on the food stamps program has increased 100 percent since President Obama took office, and now one in seven Americans uses food stamps. In the 1970s, one out of every 50 Americans was on food stamps, notes the Daily Caller. After the recession, the ratio is expected to hover around one out of every nine, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Scotty, I've seen some of the "Romney is a jobs outsourcer" ads on line.

I continue to note whenever I see a gummint project that it's your grand-children's tax dollars at work. The Reagan administration spent my generation's.

President Kennedy carved his place in history outside the West Berlin town hall of Schoeneberg on June 26 1963 to declare US solidarity with the city and the continent with the immortal words; 'Ich bin ein Berliner.'
The fact that, strictly speaking, he was referring to himself as a doughnut - a Berliner - did not diminish the wild enthusiasm for him.

During his visit to Berlin next month President Obama is reportedly considering trumping that historical claim with his own phrase , possibly "Ich bin ein Muffin"

I remember watching Kennedy's televised press conferences on Saturdays. He had style and wit, and seemed honest in his answers. He was enjoyable to watch. Maybe it's just me, but Obama seems excessively theatrical, and reminds me most of a comedian without funny material.

Dept. of Homeland Security: Laptops, Phones Can Be Searched Based on Hunches

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — U.S. border agents should continue to be allowed to search a traveler’s laptop, cellphone or other electronic device and keep copies of any data on them based on no more than a hunch, according to an internal Homeland Security Department study. It contends limiting such searches would prevent the U.S. from detecting child pornographers or terrorists and expose the government to lawsuits.

The 23-page report, obtained by The Associated Press and the American Civil Liberties Union under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, provides a rare glimpse of the Obama administration’s thinking on the long-standing but controversial practice of border agents and immigration officers searching and in some cases holding for weeks or months the digital devices of anyone trying to enter the U.S.

Since his election, President Barack Obama has taken an expansive view of legal authorities in the name of national security, asserting that he can order the deaths of U.S. citizens abroad who are suspected of terrorism without involvement by courts, investigate reporters as criminals and — in this case — read and copy the contents of computers carried by U.S. travelers without a good reason to suspect wrongdoing.

While I didn't bother reading the entire article, one thing that I learned a long, long time ago is that before you go through customs, you're not really IN the US, so the limitations the Constitution place on government activity don't apply.

Sort of like how the CIA can do things in foreign countries that it can't do here. Not saying it's right (or wrong), just not expressing any surprise or even outrage.

Now, if you want to discuss spying on domestic communication, that's another story.
