The Musical Heritage Society was an excellent source for high quality recordings, even though the performers might not have been on the big labels' A list.

Not sure if they had 8-tracks.

I had a small number of LPs from the Longines Symphonette Society . Apparently, they were recordings of music that was performed on the radio broadcasts The Longines Symphonette (sponsored by the watch maker), of which I was not familar. The recordings were of good quality, as best I recall. I do not know what has become of them, though. They are not in my LP collection currently.
