Keep 'em coming indeed! Even though this topic may be a 'dud' compared with some others, I'm looking forward to seeing some fresh CD-buying ideas!

If any of you are thinking you have to pick obscure works, don't. Any great music that you think deserves more air time is fine.

Maybe after the results are presented we can all recommend recordings of our top choices? That way those of us who are interested in learning new pieces will have somewhere to start. I for one will be very interested in the results..

Okay, the deadline has passed and the results are in. Out of 11 lists submitted, 101 different compositions were named. There was only one composition that appeared in more than one list:

Tchaikovsky: Piano Concerto No. 2 appeared in two seperate lists, but that did not give it a score above 10. This means there was an 11-way tie for the No. 1 Most Underheard Piece. So as far as the game scoring goes, this thread accomplished little. But as far as the naming of interesting compositions, it was outstanding. Everyone wins this time around! :D

Now for everyone's individual picks, placed in order of submission:

There you have it! And since everyone is the winner, I think it is only fair that everyone gets to decide the next topic, or more accurately, the topic after the next, for the next topic shall be *drumroll, attempted poorly* Top Ten 'Top Ten Thread' Topics. I will once again post the compiled list of suggested topics. You may do one of 3 things.

1. Select your favorite 10 from the suggestion list as your picks;
2. Select some from the list and make up others of your own as your picks;
3. Or, make up 10 completely original topics of your own as your picks.

If we get a meaningful consensus from this list, the person with the best matching list will get to choose from the top three topics.

If we don't get a meaningfull consensus, the topic with the most points will be used as the next thread topic.

Any new topic ideas presented will be added to the compilation and displayed as choices after the end of future threads.

Thanks once again for everyone that took the time to submit a list. This was a very interesting topic to undertake. Hopefully everyone will discover some new music that they wished they would have discovered earlier. :)

I'd just like to point out that TrumpetMaster and I both nominated Strauss' Alpine Symphony, bringing the total number of repeated works to a whopping 2.

BenMurphy6- Indeed you both did! But not only does that bring the total number of repeated works to a whopping 2. It makes Strauss' Alpine Symphony the sole No. 1 Most Underheard Composition with a score of 11 points! :D

My oversight.
