The score is a cross between the soundtrack from the peacemaker, and Mars form The planets. It is an awesome piece that is angry and inspiring. It evokes thoughts of the ultimate battle between good and evil. Hans has a unique style, and recurring themes in most all his music, but it is soothing. I give this soundtrack 4 stars out os 5. It is a great motion picture, and I don't usually talk like this, but Russell Crowe is a "bad mamma jamma!"

Yes! The insider was great. He is an awesome actor. I can't wait to see sign of life.

Hans Zimmer composed part of the Gladiator soundtrack. The more soothing tracks were scored by Lisa Gerrard who has her own unique style. And she scored another Russell Crowe movie: The Insider. The soundtrack to that movie is fabulous as well.. very fitting for the movie.

I could almost tell that Hans Zimmer wrote some of the music - it has a certain quality that fits in with the Lion King soundtrack, which is one of my favorite soundtracks.<BR> Dont forget Beethovens B-day Dec.16th and bring your ear-trumpets to the festivities!<P>

A piece such as Gerrard's haunting Elysium was the perfect accompanyment to the visual. Within seeing the first scene of the movie, something told me this was going to be a modern classic. There hasn't been such a perfect marrriage of music and film since Saint-Saens, Danse Macabre, and Dracula.....and Russell Crowe was indeed the man of men in that movie....what would you think if I changed my name to Maximus???

True...true, all very worthy in their own right.<P>As we are listening to Beethoven.com, we must also include, Immortal Beloved. Gary Oldman's performance as the maestro, especially when he is playing Moonlight Sonata, possesses enough understated testosterone to make Indiana Jones quiver...<P>Anyone who can attract the likes of Isabella Rossalini's character, Countess Marie, gets my vote any day...With her temperment and beauty, I would have been at a loss for words to even muster a "hi".
