Course, around here we prounounce Charlotte (part of the city of Rochester), shar-lot, and the town of Chili is chai-lie, not to mention Lima (pronounced like the bean not the country)... Somewhat near Penn State is the town of Du Bois - pronounced doo-boys. We really like to mangle pronounciations in this country...
And I still have the aunt/ant argument with my husband - a Newenglander - he says 'awnt' and I say 'ant'. We'll see what Pumpkin says...
