Regarding webcasting the ceremony, I have no idea how that would be done, nor do I have the time or energy to find out between now & then. However, if someone volunteered....

The other mitigating factor is that I'm sure there won't be much to watch. Simple ceremony, going light on the trappings.

In case anyone hasn't picked up on it from the scads of hints dropped over the last couple of weeks by Piq, me, and Selma(with her constant snickering), little Altoid is due to join the party in August!

Due to the advanced age of the incubator, and the lack of good replacement parts for a rebuild, the decision was made to undertake manufacturing opportunities at risk, in the hopes of obtaining shippable product before the apparatus completely breaks down. The equipment worked better than statistics would suggest, and great glee was inflicted upon the participants.

congrats on the baby. they're so cute that I find myself getting distracted doing my well baby exams. I also learned that if you tell the nurse that the baby has a dirty diaper, they tell you where the diapers are. apparently babies can poo so much that it literally flies out of the side of the diaper onto the walls of the isolettes. The nurses call that a size 3 bowel movement. have fun...

Piq, your "technical" description of the "incubator" reminds me of a parenting book I saw at the discovery store that was written like a manual for a VCR. It's called "The Baby Owner's Manual: Operating Instructions, Trouble-Shooting Tips, and Advice on First-Year Maintenance" Taking a baby to the pediatrician is referred to as "servicing." Made me laugh. For OT, there's a book called "Keeping the Baby Alive till Your Wife Gets Home: The Tough New 'how-to' for 21st Century Dads" When my friend found out she was pregnant, I got her the Worst Case Scenario for parenting. It was kind of funny too. Certainly beats the boring baby books that she said she wanted.

Note - the book from hell for expectant mothers -
"what to expect when you are expecting" -
major guilt trip, with lots of info.
A much needed companion book (the two together provide a reasonable balance of info and attitude) = Pregnancy Sucks. HIGHLY recommended.
Unless you are a wanna-be grandma, then keep the latter book far far away from your children.
Its anti-evolutionary.
