She really does smile a lot. We try to catch it on film, but the delay associated with the digital camera always seems to be long enough for the smile to go away.

The glower - really a squint. She had been smiling when Piq pressed the button, but I think she was squinting - it's very bright outside today.

Babies really aren't too cooperative with the smiling for the camera bit. Actually, little kids in general seem to have issues with smiling for cameras. My little cousin has a cute natural smile but as soon as she sees a camera, her smile looks forced and uncertain. And I don't think I've outgrown that. My picture for my yearbook, residency app, and the class composite that will hang in the halls of Tulane until the day the city is destroyed by a hurricane is horrid! Oh well...at least it's better than those composites from the 70s and 80s.

JC Penny has those in adult sizes...as well as in fluorescent pink.

thumb suckers unite! It's the pacifier impossible to lose! I mean, look at her! She's sleeping on a hyperstimulating (one might say seizure inducing) blanket and yet she sleeps soundly with a thumb. love the sock photo!

Yup, nice things about the thumb: it doesn't get lost under the sofa(and subsequently covered with cat hair, dust bunnies, etc.), and you are reasonably assured of where it's been.



I dumped that basket of whites on her right out of the dryer(completed cooldown cycle, of course). Didn't faze her one bit.
