Beethoven Map

Postby zlosin » Wed Nov 16, 2005 12:08 am

I set up a map where you can post your location. Its pretty neat and the site does not ask for any personal infromation.

http://www.frappr.com/beethoven

It covers the entire world!

lets see where people live that enjoy Beethoven.com

I think it's a great idea, too, PSIP. However, would it be possible to zoom the map out to off-planet locations? I'd like to be able to post my locale.

Thank you.

David, Yes. There is a slide control on the upper left, just move that to zoom in or out.
The map should come up as a world map when you first open it.
As to other planets, I am afraid only the 3rd rock from the sun is represented right now. When Google maps add more areas, I am sure your celestial body will be available.
NOTE:
Since it has a degree of privacy built in, your exact location is not provided, (it is only by zip code or city name) it is indicated by general area. That is why if you zoom really in, some people are shown as living on rail road tracks, the middle of a lake or freeway.
Have fun.

NateBrei- Just type in any message you want to say. If you don't have anything to say, just type "Hi" or do what I did and put in your location again. Not sure why its mandatory, but it still harmless. :D

Oh well, it looks like I'll just have to be content with putting my photo up. I don't get the little balloon; probably because it's about the size of my country!

Dia, I changed the map center so that now your balloon is there. Take a look. Thanks for posting.

Another note about the map. IF you select Satellite on the upper right, you will see a photo of the area with all the houses and features. It even worked with Dia Breads location! super cool. Maybe you can even find you house Dia :D

Analog, I came up fine here, I saw you post and balloon. was there a map before you posted?
Try restarting your browser.
Could you have the zoom control all the way in? that is the only way I could make it appear that there was no map. but the zoom control was still there
Otherwise I have no idea.
