Classical Music newbie looking for some help

Hi everyone! Since I am a brand spanking new member, I thought I'd introduce myself. I am German born and raised, but have lived in the U.S for the last 25 years. Most recently in Montana.

I just found Beethoven.com a few days ago and just love the site. Didn't realize that things can get this hot and heavy in a place where you'd think people are more unobtrusive and polished.

Anyhow since the Schumann/Brahms story had such an effect I thought I'd tell you about Wagner.

I heard that he and King Ludwig of Bavaria were very, very tight. So much so that Ludwig built him a beautiful little grotto in Linderhof, the King's little lust castle. And here I was brought up to believe that the gay/lesbian phenomenon is a modern thing.

Now, Bignaf, even most certain heterosexuals have certain downfalls and will do some pretty gross stuff to get what they want!

Didn't intend with my post what you read into it. Was stricly talking about the rather bizarre relationship between Wagner and Ludwig as it was related to me!

Borodin also was a Science teacher. He wrote music in his spare time and came up with my all-time fav. the Nocturne from String quartet #2.

YRH, where did Mr. Gab say that homosexuality is gross? and where did he attack someone?
BTW, most Brahms scholars agree that Brahms was in love with Clara and vice versa. there are some very hot letters between them. however no one can clain they know for sure that they have slept together (can they?). the Wagner story is plain gossip. (probably).
I should add that the brahms Clara relationship bacame platonic after Robert's death.
